CHORDFALL

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026
The short version: Chordfall listens to your guitar through the microphone to run the game, but that audio is processed live on your device and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. We collect anonymous usage stats (like which modes get played) to improve the game. No accounts, no personal data, nothing that identifies you. Your calibration and progress stay on your device.

This policy explains what Chordfall ("the app", "we") does with information when you play, on both the mobile app and the web version at chordfall.vercel.app.

Microphone

Chordfall uses your device's microphone to detect the chords you play on a real guitar, which is the whole point of the game. The audio is analyzed in real time, on your device, to recognize which chord was strummed. It is not recorded to a file, not saved, and not transmitted to us or anyone else. Nothing leaves your device.

Information stored on your device

The app saves a few things locally on your device (in the app's own storage) so it works well for you:

This information never leaves your device. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

Analytics

To understand how Chordfall is used and make it better, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage events using a privacy-focused analytics service (PostHog). For example: the app was opened, calibration was completed or skipped, which game mode was chosen, or a set finished.
